Most people who play poker do it the way they'd play golf or chess — a hobby with a scoreboard. For some, it becomes something heavier: playing with money that was meant for something else, hiding sessions from people they love, chasing losses to feel even, or feeling anxious when they can't play. If any of that sounds familiar, talking to someone helps, and the helpline above exists exactly for that conversation. It's staffed around the clock, it's free, and nobody on the other end will judge you.
Honest record-keeping is one of the most clear-eyed tools there is. A bankroll log doesn't rationalize, doesn't remember wins more vividly than losses, and doesn't care what the last session felt like. If your records show steady losses that would matter to your life outside the game, believe the records — that's information, not failure.
Rebuy Labs is organizational software — schedules, clocks, standings, and records. We don't hold money, process buy-ins, or facilitate wagers, and we don't profit from anyone's losses. But our users play poker, so we carry this page the way a good cardroom posts it at the cage: visibly, permanently, and without judgment. If you run a league, we encourage you to look out for your players the same way.
The National Council on Problem Gambling (ncpgambling.org) offers screening tools, state-by-state resources, and support for family members. Gamblers Anonymous(gamblersanonymous.org) runs free meetings in most cities and online. If you're outside the US, the International Center for Responsible Gaming lists helplines by country.
