Poker Odds Calculator

Enter two Texas Hold’em hands and any board to see exact win, tie, and lose percentages — or run your hand against a random opponent.

Enter cards as rank + suit: A K Q J T 9…2 and s h d c. Example: Ah Kd.

How the numbers are calculated

This tool uses Monte-Carlo simulation: it deals tens of thousands of random completions of the board, evaluates both hands each time, and counts wins, ties, and losses. With 30,000 runs the result is accurate to roughly half a percent — plenty for study and table decisions. Exact enumeration would give the same numbers to another decimal; the practical answer is identical.

Turning equity into a decision

Equity alone doesn’t tell you to call — you compare it to the price. If you have 40% equity and the pot is laying you better than 40% (you risk less than you stand to win), calling is profitable. Pair this with the pot odds calculator to close the loop.

How does a poker odds calculator work?

It computes equity — your share of the pot if the hand were played to showdown many times. This calculator runs a Monte-Carlo simulation: it deals thousands of random runouts for the remaining board and counts how often each hand wins, ties, or loses, then reports the percentages.

What is equity in poker?

Equity is the percentage of the pot a hand is worth on average against the opponent’s hand or range. If you have 60% equity in a $100 pot, your share is worth $60 in the long run. Equity is the foundation of pot-odds and expected-value decisions.

What are the odds of AA vs KK preflop?

Pocket aces beat pocket kings about 82% of the time preflop (roughly 4-to-1), with the rest going to kings and a tiny fraction to split pots. You can confirm this and any other matchup with the calculator above.

Can I calculate odds on the flop or turn?

Yes. Enter the board cards you know (3 for the flop, 4 for the turn) and the calculator only simulates the remaining cards, giving exact equity for that spot.

Equity is estimated by simulation and assumes both hands are shown down. This is an educational estimate based on standard poker math and simplifying assumptions — not a guarantee of results or financial advice. Poker involves chance and variance.
